Booking terms
These terms apply every time you book a lane, an intro session or coaching, or join as a member. They also hold our cancellation, refund and dispute policy and the membership renewal terms.
1. Who you are dealing with
Pavilion Cricket Club is an indoor cricket net facility in Surrey, British Columbia, and part of DERA Collective. When you book or join, your contract is with DERA Collective, which operates Pavilion Cricket Club.

2. Lane bookings
Lanes are booked by the hour through Calendly, using the links in our rates section. We are open 10am to 12am, seven days a week. The club has one lane, and a booking gives you that lane to yourself for the hours you chose.
| When | Price |
|---|---|
| Evenings and weekends | $55 an hour |
| Weekday daytime | $40 an hour |
Please arrive a few minutes early so you can sign in, get your gear on and use the full hour. A session ends at the booked time. Arriving late does not extend it, and the lane after yours belongs to the next booking.
3. Before you play
Cricket involves a hard ball, a bowling machine and a confined space, so a few things are not optional.
- Every adult signs the participant waiver before paying for a first session and before entering the nets. It covers your visits for twelve months, then you sign a fresh one.
- Anyone who comes past the desk to watch from inside the facility, including a parent or guardian staying with a young player, signs the participant waiver too. Its Activities include watching from inside.
- Anyone under 19 plays only after a parent or guardian has signed the parent or guardian consent form.
- Wear clean indoor sports shoes. No street shoes, spikes or bare feet in the nets.
- Wear protective equipment that suits what you are doing. Anyone facing a hard ball or the bowling machine wears a helmet with a faceguard, and we strongly recommend pads, gloves and a box.
- One batter in a net at a time. Everyone else stays behind the netting.
- Follow staff instructions at all times, including any call to stop play.
- No alcohol at the club, and no play by anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
We may stop a session at any point for safety. If we stop it because you or someone in your booking broke these rules, the session is not refunded. If we stop it for any other reason, section 8 applies and you choose a refund for the unused time or a rebooking.
4. Intro sessions and coaching
The intro session is $99 for ninety minutes, for up to eight players, with the lane to yourselves. It is booked by email at bookings@deracollective.com, and we confirm the date, time and lane by reply.
Coaching is coming soon and is not yet bookable. When it opens, pricing is confirmed by email before you book, and no coaching booking exists until we have confirmed it in writing.
5. Membership
Membership is coming soon and is not yet open to join. When it opens, its price and terms are published here and in the membership agreement before anyone joins.
6. Prices and taxes
All prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include GST, which is added at 5 percent and shown on your receipt. PST does not apply to lane bookings, intro sessions, coaching or memberships. It applies only to any equipment we sell or rent for a separate charge.
7. Payment
Today, a booking is confirmed by email and paid at the club, or by invoice where we agree that in writing. Lane bookings made through Calendly are confirmed by the Calendly email you receive.
If we add online payment, it will run on a payment provider's own hosted pages, and we will name the provider here and in the privacy policy before it goes live. The club never sees or stores your card number. Receipts are sent by email to the address you booked with.
8. Cancellation, refunds and disputes
Cancelling or moving a lane booking
You can cancel or move a lane booking free of charge up to 24 hours before its start time, using the link in your Calendly confirmation email. Inside 24 hours, the session is charged, or forfeited if it was prepaid. If you do not arrive, the session is charged.
Intro sessions and coaching
The same 24 hour rule applies. Email us to cancel or move an intro session or a coaching booking.
If we cancel
If the club cancels your booking, for any reason, you choose between a full refund and a rebooking at no charge.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method within 15 days of the day you tell us you are cancelling, and usually sooner. Where you paid at the club or by invoice, we refund the same way or by bank transfer, whichever you prefer.
Disputing a charge
If you think a charge is wrong, email us first at bookings@deracollective.com with the date and amount. We answer within 5 business days, and most problems are fixed in that first reply.
9. Your responsibilities and damage to equipment
Treat the nets, the bowling machine and the club's bats, balls and protective gear as you would your own. Normal wear from ordinary play is expected and costs you nothing. Damage caused by misuse, such as throwing a bat, feeding the wrong balls into the machine or ignoring an instruction, is charged at the cost of repair or replacement. You are responsible for everyone in your booking, and for your own belongings.
10. Photography
We sometimes photograph or film sessions for the club's website and social media. We do this only with your consent, as described in our privacy policy, and you can say no or withdraw consent at any time. For anyone under 19, a parent or guardian gives or refuses that consent on the consent form.
11. Liability
For adults, the participant waiver governs the risks of playing, and it is the document to read before you decide to play. If you have signed the waiver, it sets out the claims you have given up, including claims under the British Columbia Occupiers Liability Act, so read it before you pay. For anyone who has not signed the waiver, including spectators and anyone under 19, nothing in these terms excludes or limits any duty we owe them as occupier of the premises.
To the extent the law allows, our liability under these terms for anything other than personal injury is limited to the amount you paid for the booking or membership concerned.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there. If we cannot resolve a problem between us, a claim may be brought at the Civil Resolution Tribunal for amounts within its small claims limit, or in the courts of British Columbia.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the British Columbia Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. The terms in force when you booked apply to that booking. Changes to membership terms are governed by section 5.
14. Contact
Questions about a booking, a membership or these terms go to bookings@deracollective.com or 604 721 7239. Privacy questions go to the Privacy Officer, DERA Collective, at the same address, as set out in our privacy policy.
